As you might already know, I am proud to be one of the authors of the newest Lonely Planet Paris guidebook (ed. 15). It’s my 4th time writing a city guide about my home city for them. This city guide is not only about visiting the Parisian main landmarks one by one. It’s also practical, with many tips, maps and detailed itineraries. And it’s mostly about sharing what we love and experience as Parisians!
Together, my fellow Lonely Planet writers and I have selected and explored the very best Parisian experiences: from arts and culture to food, drinks, music, theatre and heritage. We’ve interviewed local experts and created detailed itineraries across the city to help you plan your perfect days in Paris.
In this guide, I wrote about the heart of Paris in the “Louvre & Les Halles” chapter. I tell you about my favourite art and royal architecture, but also give you my address book for some of the best drink and food spots in the city. I’ve also put together for you my favourite walks across the iconic Parisian covered passages.
I also wrote the “Belleville & MĂ©nilmontant” part, where you’ll see a more festive, multicultural and alternative side of Paris. It’s the cradle of street art, but also a vibrant musical and food scene. It also holds my favourite sunset spot in Paris… read it to find out where!
And last but not least, to delve into some of the lesser-known sides of Paris, I chose to tell you more about the Parisian Metro here in the final storybook section of the guidebook.
